Journey of a Noma Face

Post date: Jul 8, 2010 11:51:58 AM

When we met her years ago, we promised to try and help her. Several years later, thanks to your support, and after many trips to Vientiane, she was finally offered help. Here is a link to the case report.

Objective: Noma, or cancrum oris, is rare in developed countries. Surgeons are likely to encounter this disease only in the context of a medical mission.

We are looking forward to her visit later this month. She will come with her brother and help out the two social workers from Vientiane when they are here for the children's development center. Rehabilitation is more than surgical.
